Dr. Alexander Belyy

Position:

Assistant Professor in Structural Biology

Research interests:

I was trained as a biochemist at Lomonosov Moscow State University, received my PhD in microbiology at the Institut Pasteur in Paris and completed a 5-year postdoctoral fellowship in cryogenic electron microscopy (cryo-EM) at the Max-Planck Institute in Dortmund. Combining all my skills, I study bacterial toxins, important virulence factors of human pathogens. My goal is to understand their molecular mechanism of action and to find optimal inhibitors, laying the foundation for new therapeutic approaches.
